Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast
In 2017, the Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast celebrated its 28th annual gathering coming together In Solidarity, Uniting To End the HIV/AIDS Epidemic. The Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast maintains a tradition of commemorating and celebrating the life and work of Bayard Rustin, one of the unsung heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. The breakfast recognizes the roles of individuals from LGBTQ communities of color in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Miriam Vega, CEO of the University Muslim Medical Association Community Clinic of Los Angeles. A performances by Larry Watson and Group at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum closed out the memorable program.

Chandler Street Block Party
A Boston Gay Pride tradition, AIDS Action hosted the annual Chandler Street Block Party on June 10th immediately following the Pride Parade. Chandler Street Block Party draws over 4,000 revelers to dance and socialize outdoors in the heart of Boston’s South End neighborhood.

Scott Riklin Memorial Golf Tournament
On June 16, 2017, the 21st Annual Scott Riklin Memorial Golf Tournament was hosted by the Riklin Family at the Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough, MA. Held each year since 1997 in memory of Scott Riklin, this grassroots event has become an important fundraiser for AIDS Action Committee with more than $90,000 raised to date. Special thanks to the event organizers, Jeff Riklin, Liz Reilly, and their generous supporters and donors.
World AIDS Day
On World AIDS Day, December 1, 2016, The Getting to Zero Coalition of Massachusetts launched the release of the Getting to Zero Blueprint, Massachusetts’ comprehensive plan to eliminate new HIV infections, AIDS related deaths, and stigma associated with the epidemic. Supporters and advocates gathered at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School for an evening reception to celebrate the release and learn more about the Coalition’s work in shaping the future direction of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and policy here in the Commonwealth.
