2017 BOOMERANGS 2018-11-30T19:06:51+00:00

Shop Thrift. Fight AIDS.

Boomerangs was started as part of a long-term strategy to diversify revenue streams in the face of declining state and federal funding. As public funding for HIV support, prevention and education programs continues to dwindle, this entrepreneurial approach allows AIDS Action to continue providing services—the need for which increases each year.

Named 2017’s Best Thrift Shop

Named 2017’s Best Thrift Shop by The Improper Bostonian, Boomerangs is a family of thrift stores owned and operated by the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. With locations in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Central Square, and Boston’s South End we accept tax-deductible donations from our supporters and resell them to raise unrestricted funding in support of AIDS Action’s mission. It’s a win-win! Local individuals or corporations get to clear out their clutter, claim it on their taxes and we benefit, too.

Our stores feature furniture, artwork, books, clothing and jewelry. Our Special Edition store in the South End is highly curated to realize the full potential of high-end donations.

In addition to retail operations, we also manage a successful job-training program that allows AIDS Action clients to learn valuable skills and gain work experience.
